A unique movement form that combines Dance Arts (Jazz, Modern & Duncan), with Martial Arts (Tae Kwon Do, Aikido, & Tai Chi), and Healing Arts (Alexander Technique, Feldenkreis Method & Yoga) into choreographed routines danced to eclectic music designed to increase flexibility, agility, mobility, strength, and stability. Fast-paced and challenging, Nia is a total-body fitness class that engages the cardiovascular system in an hour-long workout that begins slowly, increases to a crescendo and ends in a cool-down. Taught by Elizabeth Kiser, a certified Nia Black Belt; Nia is unlike any other fitness form you’ve ever tried.
HYBRID YOGA is designed to be heartfelt and accepting; students are guided to express themselves through the poses to their fullest ability.
Offered first thing in the morning, it’s an amazing way to begin the day: stretching and connecting with Self in a way that opens the heart, allowing the mind to rest and invigorating the body for the day to come.
POWER HIPS is a unique fusion of YOGA, PILATES and NIA focusing on strengthening legs, hips, lower back and abs while improving flexibility, balance, and coordination.
MAT PILATES is the art of controlled movements that improve flexibility, builds strength and develops control and endurance in the entire body. Mat Pilates puts emphasis on alignment, breathing, developing a strong core, as well as improving coordination and balance.
The core, consisting of the muscles of the abdomen, low back, and hips, is often called the “powerhouse” and is the key to a person’s stability. The Mat Pilates system allows for different exercises to be modified in range of difficulty from beginner to advanced while taking into account the practitioner’s specific goals and/or limitations.
TRADITIONAL THAI MASSAGE is an ancient healing system that combines broad and targeted acupressure, stimulation and manipulation of energy lines called sen, and assisted yoga postures. Treatment effects are enhanced when the patient is fully relaxed and breathing deeply.
Unlike Swedish massage, clients are fully clothed, and through some assisted postures, the massage becomes interactive.
These are all custom classes requiring pre-registration and cash payment, $20 per class per person, at the start of each class.
